The National has carried several articles about using drones in the UAE in roles other than military, surveillance, and spying applications. One of the possibilities mentioned is as document delivery to improve government service delivery. An article today mentions parcel delivery. There is already a fair amount of concern about privacy issues related to drones. An additional concern with drones and similarly low-flying vehicles being used in Muslim lands is that measures be taken to ensure that observant Muslim women are not denied access to outdoor areas where they have a reasonable expectation of privacy from unwanted male eyes, such as within the walls of their own villa or farm, or in many of the public parks, beaches, and open-air pools reserved for women.
